Human Kininogen Single Chain Purified High Molecular Weight from Innovative Research has been purified from human plasma. This is a frozen liqud buffered in 4 mM sodium acetate-HCl/ 0.15 M NaCl/ pH 5.3, with a concentration of 1mg/ml and a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.

High Molecular Weight Kininogen is plasma protein that helps to initiate coagulation. HMW Kininogen is one of the four proteins that begin the contact activation/intrinsic coagulation pathway (along with Factor XI, Factor XII, and Prekallikrein). HMW Kininogen functions as a cofactor in activating Kallikrein and Factor XII, and is necessary for Factor XIIa to activate Factor XI, but is not itself enzymatically active.
